Gospel stars take Idols SA to church

Gospel singers, Ayanda Ntanzi, Dumi Mkokstad, Hlengiwe Mhlaba and Lebo Sekgobela took over the Idols stage on Sunday, 7 November.

The award-winning musicians sang alongside Idols SA Top 4 contestants as they performed some of their hits.

Singer, Judith Sephuma was this week’s guest judge. Berry started the show with a hot performance of Basuka by Ayanda Ntanzi, leaving people on social media impressed with how she nailed the Zulu lyrics.

Karabo teamed up with powerhouse Lebo Sekgobela and they sang her hit, Haleluyah Mdumiseni. Dumi Mkokstad and Kevin sang Dumi’s 2020 hit, Ukuhlala Kuye, and S’22Kile joined forces with Hlengiwe Mhlaba and they gave a powerful performance of Hlengiwe’s Mhlekazi.

After the first round, Kevin was unfortunately eliminated and went home, leaving his fans devasted.

The top 3 shone and all sang their hearts out, hoping to make it to the top 2.

Berry had a great night as she returned for an impressive second round with Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers and the third with Adele’s new single, Easy On Me.

Fans favourite, Karabo came back with Beverly Knight’s Gold on the second round and then sang Phakade Lami by Nomfundo Moh featuring ShaSha for the third round. S’22Kile closed off the top 3 performances with Amanda Black’s Mna Nawe for the second round and performed Doja Cat’s Woman for the third round. The voting lines are open.
