Former Generations actress Sophie Lichaba seems to be a magnet for Bad Publicity. But the 47-year-old Mzansi Actress never lets it bother her.
Reports recently emerged that she owed the bank over R80 000 after falling behind on bond payments on her Featherbrooke Estate house.
According to a Sunday paper, the soapie star defaulted for about four months on her monthly R22 347 bond and was in arrears by over R80 000.
She said she fell behind with her instalments as the tenants she rented the house to defaulted on their rent.
But shortly after the reports surfaced, Sophie took to Instagram to announce she was renovating a hot spot in the Vaal and converting it into a Shisa Nyama and lounge. She said she would continue to rise, regardless of what people did to try and defeat her.
“My God is faithful and is restoring everything those that despise tried to take.
“They tried to bury God’s favourite. Remember the story of Job? They should know by now my faith is sufficient. I’m blessed.
“I’m untouchable!”
Many people rallied behind Sophie, saying she should leave everything in God’s hands. Nonhlanhla Watsietsi said: “Motivation in a human form (aus Sophie, nna ke tletse ka wena (I am motivated by you).” Ndlovu Brilliant wrote: “You are a strong woman with a purpose, vision and a plan.
“I know you are planted in the concrete but I trust you will find a crack and find your way out through all the odds. Choose to bloom until they don’t know what to write.”
