Honkai: Star Rail – How To Beat Phantylia the Undying

A massive plot twist regarding Tingyun is revealed in Honkai: Star Rail’s Desolate Depths of Despair Trailblaze mission, which is an eye-opener considering the words she says around the time when Abundant Ebon Deer comes alive in another quest are quite weird.

Honkai Star Rail

Considering the immense strength of this Honkai: Star Rail boss, it’s no surprise that she ends up being a weekly boss, which means players can relive the battle in the Echoes of War. The reward can only be claimed three times per week, but the battle itself can be done to the heart’s content. If players are struggling in the battle against this foe, the following article will list important points Trailblazers need to know to beat Phantylia the Undying in Honkai: Star Rail.

To beat Phantylia the Undying, players must know how her Abundance and Destruction Lotus work in the three phases. In the first stage, Phantylia summons two Abundance Lotuses; in the second, two Destruction Lotuses will accompany the boss; and in the final phase, both Abundance and Destruction versions will be present, so there will be five enemies on the field.

Phase 1
In phase 1, the boss will summon the Abundance Lotus once they move, so Trailblazers should wait until the flower appears before unleashing a strong AoE attack. Alternatively, strategizing the destruction of each Lotus can also be a great idea as downing both Lotuses at once will cause the restored Skill Points to be wasted. Each flower grants players three Points, but five Skill Points is the limit.

Phase 2
Unlike Abundance Lotus, the Destruction version appears immediately at the start of the second phase. This minion will either Siphon a character’s HP, which reduces HP and blocks max recoverable HP; or Bloom, which will cause them to use Havoc next turn, dealing massive damage. However, in this phase, the Lotus will mostly use Siphon instead of Bloom.

Bloom state can be removed with buff dispelling Skills, while the Siphon debuff can be eliminated by using cleansing Skills.

Phase 3
In phase 3, two Abundance and two Destruction Lotuses will be there immediately. The boss will continuously summon Abundance Lotus each time it’s destroyed, while the Destruction version can’t be destroyed as it will enter the Repose state instead, which will revive after two turns.

Unlike in phase 2, the Destruction flower will use Bloom more often than in the previous stage. This means players should pay great attention as the Havoc Skill can be deadly if it’s not taken care of.

Additionally, players will have Dan Heng’s Imbibitor Lunae assistance, which can be used by pressing R (or the button on the right) once its energy is fully charged.

Abundance Lotus
Has 60 Toughness.
Weak to Wind and Imaginary.
Take away one Skill point from the players’ team.
Once defeated, restore three Skill points to the players’ team.

Honkai Star Rail

Destruction Lotus
Has 180 Toughness in the Echoes of War.
Weak to Lightning, Quantum, and Imaginary.
Weakness is disabled when Bloom status isn’t present.
After using Bloom, the next action will be Havoc, which deals a considerable amount of DMG (Havoc won’t trigger if the boss is crowd-controlled). Players can remove the Bloom state using buff dispelling Skills.
If Bloom is dispelled, Weakness is broken, or if the Lotus is defeated, the Destruction Lotus applies a vulnerability debuff to the boss, increasing DMG taken by 50% for one turn.
Can apply a debuff that blocks recoverable HP by 40% of max HP. This debuff can be deleted using cleansing Skills.
Once defeated, enter the Repose state and revive after two turns.

Phase 2 Lotuses have Lightning attributes and phase 3 is Imaginary.
The best team compositions to use against Phantylia the Undying in Honkai: Star Rail should include:

An AoE DPS
A second DPS or debuffer
A buffer
A cleanser + healer
For example, players can do something like:

Honkai Star Rail

Best Overall Team
Main DPS: Blade
Second DPS + Debuffer: Welt
Support: Bronya
Cleanser + Healer + Buff Remover: Luocha
F2P Team
AoE DPS: Serval
Second DPS: Dan Heng
Support: Yukong
Cleanser + Healer: Natasha
Lightning Team
Main DPS: Jing Yuan
Second DPS: Dan Heng
Support: Tingyun
Cleanser + Healer: Natasha

Thanks to Destruction Lotuses’ ability that reduces max HP by 40%, it’s important to have characters that can cleanse this debuff. For instance, Natasha and Luocha are both excellent since they heal and remove debuff at the same time. However, Luocha’s Imaginary Element is especially excellent as the boss is weak against this attribute. Additionally, Luocha can also remove buffs, so the Destruction Lotus can stop Blooming.
