This is How Ayanda Ncwane has kept going after losing her husband

We all know that Ayanda Ncwane was the love of Sfiso Ncwane’s life. They met when she was just 18-years-old and their love grew stronger over the years. Their love was beautiful to watch, and we often heard Sfiso referring to Ayanda as his ‘Kim Kardashian’.

Sadly, the award-winning gospel singer lost his life back in 2015, which left a big void not only in the Mzansi gospel scene but in the lives of his loved ones.

So, how has Ayanda managed to keep going since her husband’s passing? “The lord is our strength, my sister. I’m gonna say that the Lord is our strength,” Ayanda said on Trending SA this week.
Because looking back, the past two years at how exactly I’ve made it I cannot pinpoint at exactly what is it that has kept me through. So, I can just sum it up and say the grace of God is sufficient.”

Ayanda also went on to explain that when your husband dies, you also die. “Because spiritually you are linked together. You know you can feel that you are dead, but glory be to Jesus because on the same day you say… during the vows you say the words ‘till death do us part’ and then a part of you has separated. So, you pick yourself up from scratch,” she said on the SABC 3 talk show.

She also spoke about how culture has been twisted when it comes to women who have lost their spouses. “It is not a South African culture that when a woman loses her husband she must lose her identity, her dignity. It’s not our culture that when a woman loses her husband [she] must wear a certain colour of clothes to be identified as a widow,” she said, adding that it’s German culture that was brought to SA many years ago.

She appealed to the churches and communities to continue to embrace them as human beings. “We have just lost our husbands,” she said.

Ayanda and Letshego Zulu, who also lost her husband Gugu, are on the latest cover of Essays of Africa magazine. Ayanda shared a picture of the cover on her Instagram page on Wednesday morning.

The caption read: “And by God’s grace… here are your September cover girls for @essaysofafrica magazine. Two Queens, both August babies who both lost their best friends of 15 years, got knocked down hard but chose to rise and adjust their crowns to raise their kids as single moms GRACEFULLY.”

Ayanda added: “Strange how Letshego & I were born same year, same month, few days apart, met our husbands the same year, lost them same year, lost them almost the same way) but we didn’t know each other until recently.”

Another person who lost her husband, Simphiwe Ngema, recently shared how her journey has been since she lost her husband Dumi Masilela.

Speaking about dreaming again, she said on Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast show: “After Dumi passed away everything came crumbling down for me. My dreams, I mean we dreamt together, So, that means everything that I had dreamt of was wiped, so I had to start dreaming again, and start hoping again.”
