Heatwave to persist in the Free State, North West & Limpopo

A heatwave is expected to persist in Limpopo, North West, and Free State in the coming days.
The South African Weather Service said several provinces have already recorded higher-than-normal temperatures this weekend.
Temperatures soared to 40 degrees celsius in the northern parts of the country.
Gauteng residents are also feeling the heat, but forecaster Celeste Fourie said it was not enough to reach the heatwave threshhold.
Fourie cautioned residents to find ways to stay cool this coming week.
“It’s the basics of staying hydrated with non-alcoholic beverages, staying in the shade during the warmest times of the day. If possible, try to work in the shade. Don’t stay near any appliances that will add to the heat that’s currently persisting.”
