South Africa expecting more J&J doses – Health Dept

More Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available in August.
The Health Department’s Nicholas Crisp says they are currently using doses with a short expiry date.
He says the new batch will benefit people in the rural areas.
“We are pleased to say that in August we are now going to have Johnson & Johnson vaccine back as a fundamental part of our programme and at the moment we are still using the last of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine with a short expiry date, which is due to expire on 11 August,” he said.
South Africa has recorded more than 14,800 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
A total of 433 more deaths takes South Africa’s COVID-19 death toll to 68,625.
