We’re a busy daytime only restaurant that is popular for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Our specialty is bagels but we serve a wide selection of items inspired by American, Eastern European and Mediteranean dishes. We also have a bakery and deli on site.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Cape Town for a Head Chef at Kleinsky’s in Sea Point. The Head Chef will be responsible for managing and overseeing the kitchen and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. The Head Chef will also be responsible for supervising and training kitchen staff, creating menus, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years experience as a Head Chef
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to create menus and recipes
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Experience managing inventory and food costs
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passionate about cooking and creating high-quality dishes
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as necessary
- Experience with breakfast menus is a plus
