Parliament wants government departments to stop renting

Parliament’s Standing Committee on Appropriations would like to see government departments own buildings, instead of renting private properties.

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure pays billions to private landlords for over 2,000 properties.

This also opens the government up to corruption.
