Gordhan and Mkhwebane face-off in court

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane are set to face-off in court on Tuesday. The pair will face-off over Mkhwebane‘s report on the so-called SARS rogue unit. Gordhan denies there was anything rogue about the intelligence unit which probed tax evasion.
The minister lodged an urgent application to suspend and interdict the remedial orders by the Public Protector, citing ‘improper motives’ on her part.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has filed a supporting affidavit.
The Economic Freedom Fighters is planning to turn up in numbers outside the North Gauteng High Court today in support of Mkhwebane.
They have consistently supported Mkhwebane and what the party calls efforts to undermine the work of her office.
