Sassa extends validity of gold cards

The South African Social Security Agency has extended the validity of gold cards until the end of the year.
This is for all expiring and expired cards.
Beneficiaries have been scrambling to renew their cards.
Sassa says the extension will ensure cardholders can access their grants.
Beneficiaries who don’t wish to renew their card can choose to be paid into their personal bank accounts or use Postbank’s cardless system.
Sassa says there’ll be a delay in this month’s grant payments.
