Requirements
A relevant National diploma
Relevant GIS Course/s
2 to 5 years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in the recording and capturing
of electricity distribution systems
A valid Code B driver’s licence
Willingness to work in all weather conditions and outside
normal working hours as demanded by the exigencies of the
service.
Key Performance Areas
Record detailed as-built electrical infrastructure, including undertaking specific field inspections at various stages of high voltage construction to record accurate and detailed cable routes, overhead lines, substation layouts, jointing positions, etc. and compare findings to approved designs
Capture high and medium voltage operating diagrams in
conjunction with switching programmes, maintaining spatial and non-spatial attributes of database entries and assist with the validation of data
Perform tasks associated with manipulation of externally-sourced
data, such as classification of data to conform to standards and integrating, merging, splitting and performing aggregations
Perform tasks associated with modelling of data output, including
extracting and structuring data sourced from Geo database structures
Perform specific tasks associated with the provision of existing
reticulation information, including providing information and site investigations of existing services in response to subdivision applications and processing and issuing of wayleaves for emergency repairs.
