Gift of the Givers providing meals for 4,000 UCT students

Some UCT students have been left with nothing, but the clothes on their backs, after runaway fires on Sunday, spread onto the campus grounds and affected some of the residences.
NGO Gift of the Givers is assisting by providing meals for 4,000 UCT students. The foundation’s director, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman says other good samaritans are also helping to make the lives of affected students a little easier.
Sooliman said, “the students say they’re very grateful. Some have no toiletries, they’ve asked for simple stuff like toothpaste and toothbrushes…”
“Selfless” is the word we use to describe those brave men👨🚒and women👩🚒 who are actively involved in managing the devastating fire that broke in #CapeTown.

“We’ll be providing them with three meals a day. Vodacom has given students free airtime and data so that they can contact their families.”
