Gauteng: Late Sunday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the M26 in Gerhardsville Pretoria.
Reports from the scene indicate that two cars were involved in a collision.
Medics assessed the scene and found that one person, an adult male sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
Four other people sustained serious injuries and two people had sustained moderate injuries.
Two of the seriously injured patients were flown by a Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance as well as another medical helicopter to specialist facilities.
