Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a General Worker, based in Kempton Park. The purpose of this role is to assist with Packing of different varieties and seed lots, according to company Standard Operating Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive seed lots for Packing, and confirm the type of Packing is correct.
Check/verify quantities, kinds, varieties, and lot numbers of seed received for Packing against the information supplied on the relevant job card.
Accurately weigh/check weigh containers according to prescribed procedures after application.
Close and label containers/ bags of processed / Packing seed according to prescribed procedures.
Stack/pack containers/ bags with processed / Packed seed according to prescribed procedures.
Assist with sealing (when applicable) of processed / Packing seed according to prescribed procedures
Operate the treatment equipment after appropriate settings have been finalized by Supervisor.
Clean the relevant equipment before and after use
Maintain high levels of hygiene surrounding the work area
Presenting of job card to the Supervisor for approval & sign-off, before forwarded to the next step in the process
Follows all work instructions, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
Follows Standard Operating Procedures for all operations.
Undertakes all other reasonable tasks allocated by Supervisor and/or superiors as and when requested.
