GENERAL MANAGER POSITION:
We are searching for a committed, proactive General Manager who would enjoy working in an exciting, fast-paced environment within a sporting Club. The General Manager will promote and grow the business, hire and train staff.
You will be required to manage inventory and resources, plan and manage functions, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update supplier contracts, create schedules, set business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. You should be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations.
In order to succeed as a General Manager, you should be observant and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills.

Candidate Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Business Management or similar
General Management experience of 3 years
Strong understanding of Business Management and Accounting principles
Comprehensive knowledge on how to use a Point of Sale system
Ensure security measures such as successfully closing and locking doors and windows as well as setting the burglar alarm are consistently performed by all relevant staff
Ensure that staff is knowledgeable about product range available and the appropriate pricing
Assess and continually monitor the health and safety aspects, maintenance requirements, hygiene and cleanliness of the Club and detect and solve related current and potential problems
Excellent computer, problem solving and customer service skills
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Ability to diffuse tense situations
Punctuality
Well organized and ability to manage his/ her time effectively
Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
Take an active role in serving behind the bar should it be required
Ensure that effective systems are in place to reconcile cash received with till roll totals on a daily basis. Ensure cash is properly banked
Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize responsibilities
Decisiveness
Ability to walk, stand and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast paced stressful environment
Regularly review the bar product range to ensure it meets the needs of Club members and general public
Ability to get Club members to pay subs
Respond promptly to matters raised by members or general public. Ensure that all issues are dealt with and that they are recorded for review by the committee
Offer a monthly report to the Club Committee
