Online applications for Grades 1 and 8 for the 2025 academic year open at 8 am on Thursday morning.
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane says a minimum of three school options is required when applying to ensure alternative placement if allocation fails at a preferred school.
The department has acknowledged previous glitches in its online system and promises there will not be a repeat of the previous years’ issues, which frustrated many parents.
The online registration process will be open until 12 August.
Parents are urged to make sure applications and documents are submitted by this deadline.
