Gary Neville sends message to Salah ahead of Man Utd vs Liverpool

Man Utd host Liverpool this weekend as they look to bounce back from their worst start to a Premier League campaign in 30 years.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has attempted to prepare Harry Maguire for his battle with Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah this weekend.

The Red Devils host their fierce rivals on Sunday as the fallen European giants look to bounce back from their worst start to a Premier League campaign in 30 years.

Having won just twice in the top-flight this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future is in doubt and the manager knows a win over the Champions League holders will ease some of that pressure.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasers have enjoyed a stunning start to the season and are currently eight points clear at the top of the table.

And ahead of the clash, Transport for Greater Manchester have produced one of their trademark road signs – one that Neville seemingly enjoyed.

This time, they made a tongue-in-cheek comment based around 1989 film When Harry Met Sally – in which they have urged United defender Maguire to keep Reds star Salah quiet at Old Trafford.

Neville posted the snap on social media and wrote: “Come on Harry Maguire.”

Meanwhile the Premier League have confirmed that Martin Atkinson will be the referee for Man Utd’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

Atkinson takes charge of his seventh league game of the season, his second involving United, while he also manned the Community Shield which Liverpool played a part in.

The 48-year-old is no stranger to the contest, having sent off former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard after just 38 seconds during a clash between the two sides in 2015.

Indeed that was the last time Liverpool have lost a match where Atkinson was appointed as the lead official.
