St Joseph Marist College seeks to recruit a suitable applicant to fill the gardener position.
The gardener will maintain the gardens and surrounds of the school.
The duties and responsibilities:
-Performs gardening maintenance. Examples may include pruning, weeding, cutting grass, clearing flower beds and applying fertilizer.
-Landscaping.
-Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
-Access control at the gates.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required skills/abilities:
-Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
-Knowledge of general gardening and landscaping.
-Ability to use manual, petrol, and electrically powered garden tools.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and experience:
-Related experience preferred.
-On-the-job training offered.
Physical requirements:
-Prolonged periods standing and walking.
-Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
-Must be able to lift up 25kg at a time.
Previous working experience in a school would be advantageous.
