Tau played a starring role as Sundowns clinched their eighth Absa Premiership title, scoring 11 goals and providing 15 assists. Mamelodi Sundowns star Percy Tau was the big winner at the Premier Soccer League awards ceremony on Monday evening.
Tau was named Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season, while also being confirmed as joint-top scorer with Polokwane City’s Rodney Ramagalela.
Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane was also named Coach of the Season after beating out Maritzburg United’s Fadlu Davids and Orlando Pirates’ Milutin Sredojevic.
Ronwen Williams picked up the first award on the night as he scooped with the MTN8 Last Man Standing accolade for his heroics in SuperSport United’s MTN8 triumph.
Maritzburg United midfielder Lebogang Maboe walked away with two accolades on the night, both for his contributions in the Nedbank Cup, winning the Player of the Tournament and Most Promising Player awards.
