Motorists can expect substantial fuel price reductions in March, that’s according to the Automobile Association of South Africa. The expected drop is due to world oil prices that have been falling.
The rand has depreciated to a four-year low since the spread of the coronavirus but these lows have been offset by dramatically lower oil prices.
The association has forecast month-end fuel price declines of between nine and 19-cents per litre for petrol, 55-cents a litre for diesel, and 68-cents for illuminating paraffin.
Oil prices are on track for a weekly fall of about 12-percent, the biggest in more than four years.
[FUEL PRICE OUTLOOK] We forecast month-end fuel price declines of between nine and 19 cents a litre are on the cards for petrol, 55 cents a litre for diesel, and 68 cents for illuminating paraffin, but its difficult to predict where current events might lead us. #FuelPrice
