COVID-19: President Cyril Ramaphosa optimistic SA could recover from the pandemic

Mounting job losses have not altogether dampened President Cyril Ramaphosa‘s spirits. In his weekly newsletter ‘From the desk of the President’, Ramaphosa remains optimistic the country will be able to cushion the blow of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Writing ahead of Tuesday’s inaugural infrastructural symposium — where billions of rand worth of projects will be discussed — Ramaphosa says there’s still an opportunity to deliver infrastructure.

He is looking at areas as such as water, transportation, energy, digital, human settlements and agriculture. At the symposium, the president and other roleplayers are expected to detail information on sponsorships.

The symposium takes place a day before Finance Minister Tito Mboweni is scheduled to table a revised national budget in Parliament.  Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
