COVID-19: President Cyril Ramaphosa is urging South Africa not to lower their guard

President Cyril Ramaphosa is urging South Africans not to lower their guard as they welcome the easing of the lockdown. Ramaphosa says it is too soon to celebrate.
In a letter from Ramaphosa, he says everyone should remain vigilant, and not harbour illusions that we are close to the end of the pandemic, despite progress in slowing infections and easing the demand on health facilities.
The President says there is still an increased risk of transmission, and always a chance of a resurgence.
Ramaphosa has appealed for people to be careful when visiting relatives, especially the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions
