Load shedding: ANC reacts to frequent blackouts

ANC election head Fikile Mbalula says load-shedding definitely impacted voter sentiment and turnout and the problems around power supply need to be urgently addressed.
Eskom implemented Stage 2 power cuts on Tuesday afternoon.
The power utility said the situation is expected to persist for the rest of the week, which may require power cuts to be extended.
“We need to kill the monopoly of Eskom,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we have to address issues of Eskom in the middle of a campaign.
“Monopoly of Eskom when it comes to electricity is what is a disaster for South Africa.”
