KZN Magistrate arrested for fraudulent licence

A KwaZulu-Natal magistrate has been arrested for obtaining a driver’s licence fraudulently.

He was arrested during a joint operation by the SAPS and the Road Traffic Management Corporation.

The corporation’s Simon Zwane said they are investigating officials who were involved in the issuing of the licence.

“Here we are dealing with where proper processes were not followed so it’s a fraudulent licence it’s not a fake, it’s fraudulent the document itself is legit but the process was not legit,” Zwane said.

“There are officials that were involved the investigation is still ongoing.

“We will identify those officials in due course. But that investigation is still ongoing.”
