Hawks probe alleged R26 million fraud in Eastern Cape

Arrests loom in connection with alleged fraud and corruption at the Nxuba Yethemba Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

On Tuesday, the East London Hawks visited the municipal offices to search for documents linked to the alleged R26-million fraud.

Several companies were awarded tenders for road construction and for designing a community hall between 2017 and 2018.

But none of them completed the work, despite being paid the money.
