Foschini Group to increase investment in Western Cape clothing factories

The Foschini Group, now known as TFG, is planning to increase its investment at two of its clothing factories in the Western Cape.

This is part of the company’s COVID-19 strategy to reduce its dependence on international suppliers like China.

Foschini
The owner of @Home and American Swiss plans on expanding the factory floor space and employing an additional 530 workers this year and 5 000 by 2025.

Five years ago, TFG sourced around 80 percent of its merchandise from the East.

Currently, 35 percent of TFG’s clothes are produced locally.

This is set to boost the local manufacturing industry which was crippled by the lockdown.
