Former President Jacob Zuma is not a fugitive – Pule Mabe

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe says Jacob Zuma is a law-abiding citizen. This after a warrant of arrest was issued against the former president for failing to appear in court for his corruption trial.

The High Court in Pietermaritzburg has issued a warrant for his arrest after he failed to appear in the dock, but it’s stayed until his next scheduled appearance in May.

We have noted the developments in the news yesterday as it relates to the issuance of a state warrant of arrest,” said Mabe.

“We continue to believe that former president Jacob Zuma is not a fugitive from our own justice system. He’s a law-abiding citizen. Mabe added that Zuma has missed a number of ANC events due to his health condition.
