Former president Thabo Mbeki calls ANC to use Mlangeni’s memory to renew itself

Former president Thabo Mbeki says struggle stalwart Andrew Mlangeni was deeply concerned about the rot in the ANC. Mbeki said the ANC needs to honour Mlangeni by committing to the renewal of the ANC.

“We need that renewal of the ANC so that the ANC can then discharge these responsibilities towards the people, discharge these responsibilities towards the nation and the continent,” said Mbeki.

Mlangeni spent over two decades on Robben Island after he was convicted at the Rivonia Treason trial in 1964.
