One of the oldest dairies in Limpopo is seeking to employ a Food Technologist:

Knowledge and skills required:

Ability to work independently, pro-actively and give direction;
Ability to implement and maintain quality, hygiene, and food safety standards;
Good communication skills, high sense of urgency and detail orientated;
Ability to work with people at all levels;
Effective control of quality system to meet standards of customers and local legislation;
Customer complaints investigation, feedback, and trending;
HACCP, FSSC 22000 system implementation and maintenance experience;
Supervising and training all laboratory personnel;
Investigating the root cause of problems and take corrective and preventative actions;
Daily lab work allocation and delegating the testing duties to the laboratory technicians;
Conducting microbiological tests as per procedures within the time frames specified and ensuring that deadlines are met;
Calibrating the microbiology instruments in the laboratory as per procedures;
Compiling monthly reports as required within the specified time;
Monitoring updates on specifications for micro test products;
Conduct internal audits
Maintenance of the highest possible grades in the all third parties audits and thereby maintaining certification;
Work with al outside third-party service providers including but not limited to: Microbiological and chemical laboratories, Pest Control companies, Waste collection companies.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate – Food Technology /Bio-Chemistry Diploma / Degree (qualification essential)
Minimum of 5 years experience in the dairy/food industry
Computer literate
