Five sentenced to death for killing Jamal Khashoggi

Five people have been sentenced to death for killing Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi. Three others received jail terms of 24-years each. A Saudi court dismissed charges against the remaining three of the 11 people that had been on trial.

Khashoggi was an outspoken critic of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He was last seen early in October at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The journalist’s murder caused a global uproar.​
