EFF Ekurhuleni plans to transform Finetown dumping site into gardening space

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Ekurhuleni said it intended to use the dumping site that was cleaned in Finetown for gardening purposes, to avoid further dumping in the area.

The party embarked on a clean-up campaign in the area on Saturday, saying that the dumping site was a health hazard to residents and was now being used by criminals as a hideout.

It added that the site was located close to a local church which has had to close down as a result of the filth and smell.

The party has been on cleanup campaigns across the province targeting illegal dumping sites, townships, and informal settlements.

“The illegal dumping site is located opposite the Winnie Mabaso Foundation which takes care of the homeless and orphans. By the time we are finished with this project we would have converted this area into a gardening space and a conducive environment for the church,” said EFF Gauteng spokesperson, Dumisani Baleni.
