An international coatings company with over 40 years in the market is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team, the successful incumbent must meet the below criteria;

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

This position is an integral member of the business group and is responsible for controlling and the management of financial services for the site.

Functional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue
distribution, cost, property and operating expenses records;
Maintain records of financial operating performance for comparison with estimated budgets and the integrity of the Sage X3 ERP system;
Prepare income and balance sheet statements and prepare and consolidate other accounting statements and reports as required monthly, quarterly and annually for internal and external reporting requirement.
Prepare all management and financial reports including sales, profit and loss, bank account reconciliation, balance sheet and reconciliation of capital additions, creditors and debtors’ summaries and general ledger accounts.
Analyze financial reports and records, and make studies or recommendations relating to accounting for reserves, assets and other significant financial factors
Review monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet items to ensure that all accounts are properly accounted for and in order with no unusual entries.
Responsible for maintaining the raw material and finished goods standard costing and monthly standard cost update, directs and participates in cost analyses and rates studies;
Review and interpret financial results to management personnel and recommend improvement activities;
Prepare and analysis NWC for the region and recommend improvement activities;
Cash Flow Management -prepare the monthly cash flow report and manage the FX conversion requirement to meet the business requirement.
Prepare financial data (Annual Corporate Tax Return, Fringe Benefit Tax, VAT, Payroll, required for submission to the South Africa Tax Office (SARS), and other returns to the Bureau of Statistics or CIPC, etc as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting; Prepare and consolidate statutory group account;
Oversee the payment of creditors and check documentation for accuracy; review and approve cheques prior to dispatch to ensure correct levels of authority are being observed.
Assist and train subsidiaries in fixing all sorts of issues in accounting, costing, and SAP processing; Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenue and take ownership & management in budgeting process.
Maintain and update project system, fixed asset register and participate in the preparation of capital expenditure reports and budgets as delegated.
Participate in the financial analysis for merger and acquisition;
Participate in the modification of reporting formats and schedules of accounts in accordance with company policy.
Ensure activities comply with legal, professional and ethical standards.
Conduct special studies as required; develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures; Conduct performance review for AP&AR and collection in liaison with Sales & Marketing Team and follow up with customers.
Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting and accounting;
Assist in audit of ISO 9001/14001.
Assist in other relevant tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned to assist the Financial Controller
APAC in managing the APAC Financial Reporting.
Review major capital projects for economic and business justification;
Review and recommendation to strengthen internal control system and process improvements across all areas of Finance, Supply Chain and Operations
Management, training, coaching and leadership of finance team;
Handle and manage all the Treasury functions including all banking matters liaising with Reserve Bank of South Africa and bankers; Monthly payroll processing and approval, with support from the Office Administrator; Participate and assist in corporate projects and ad-hoc reports as required; Ensure compliance with all local statutory requirement for taxation, pension, medical, labor, company corporate secretarial duties, etc;

This position must ensure that proper accounting and system practices are being adhere to. Office Management & Payroll: Manage payroll and salary for Africa, including leave management and other benefits of employees; Assist in day to day HR function in co-operation with Commercial Director and Regional HR Manager;
Oversee office administration and operations procedures for the company,
Participate in system implementations and – amongst other reengineering – projects
Co-ordinate customer sales and supplier administration.
Manage and support any direct reports as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Accounting and professional body qualifications CPA/ACCA/CIMA/etc.
5-10 years working experience in a manufacturing environment and strong working knowledge of standard costing in manufacturing company.
Proficient and have gain a solid & full understanding of Sage X3 ERP system operations in manufacturing environment and familiar using HFM (Hyperion)for reporting and Pastel
Advanced Excel, Word and Power Point presentation.
Ability to work with limited resources and within tight reporting deadline in accordance with US working calendar across various time zone.
Excellent communication skills in providing cost/management accounting services.
Demonstrated understanding of inter-departmental needs in financial areas to meet company’s objectives.
Proven analytical and pragmatic skills.
Strong capabilities in processes, improvements and measurements.
Ability to multitask and meet tight reporting deadline locally and to overseas for consolidation.
Good knowledge of Company Secretarial compliance requirement and Corporate Law in South Africa
Sound understanding of various taxes in South Africa including import & export compliance requirement and Double Taxation Agreement with various countries
Familiar with India GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS accounting standard.
Technical Accounting, Tax, Corporate Law knowledge, innovative, proactive, team orientated, results focused, flexibility, high energy levels, confident, integrity, assertive and open to challenge.
Ability to multitasks and good time management skills
