We are on the lookout for a Finance Assistant

We are looking for a candidate with :
Grade 12
Motivated and enthusiastic
Drive, determination and 3 years and above experience in working in a busy Finance department providing support to management accountants
Strong numerical & data entry skills along with a comprehensive understanding of commercial, administrative and accounting procedures.
Experience of working to tight deadlines when required.
Highly organised, proactive, hardworking, focused, & have attention to detail.
Experience in managing large quantities of data.
Strong Experience of Microsoft Excel; Pastel/Quickbooks

Key Activities will include (but not be limited to);

Support the Accountants and Accounts Team as required.
Daily inputting of sales & purchase invoices to the finance system.
Identify and promote cost -reducing measures.
Control of authorization and payment of purchase invoices.
General ledger maintenance & purchase & sales ledger data entry.
Update & enter journals for sales revenue and other transactions.
Process sales invoices, expense & credit card claims.
Reconciliation of sales ledger accounts.
Maintenance of old debt accounts.
Train other Finance Assistants with new areas of work.
Assist in the filing of Tax returns & VAT returns.
Filing, archiving & photocopying of invoices, statements and corresponden ce.
Ad hoc analysis of costs and revenue generation figures..
