Health experts are warning election campaigns could become superspreader events

Health experts are warning election campaigns could become superspreader events. Political leaders are crisscrossing the country to campaign for the local government polls. Vaccinologist, Shabir Madhi, says the spread can be prevented if campaigns are held outdoors.
We do expect an increase in electioneering but the political parties really need to ensure that it takes place in outdoor spaces,” he said.
Having it in stadiums is a much safer activity than having it in a town hall and even if it’s double the number of people that are in the stadium as opposed to the number of people that will be in a town hall. So we need to insist that political parties only have gatherings in outdoor spaces.
