Provincial Health Dept: Fatal accident in Free State involving prominent musicians claims 3 lives

A fatal accident in the Free State claimed the lives of three people on Wednesday.

Emergency Management Services (EMS) responded to a fatal accident on the N1 near the Koppies turn-off.

On arrival, provincial EMS found a car that had earlier collided with a truck.

Preliminary investigations revealed that there were five passengers in the car, with two in a stable condition in hospital, while three were declared dead on the scene.

Investigations further suggested that those involved in the accident were driving from Gauteng on the N1 towards Bloemfontein.

“The department is reliably informed that the accident involved some prominent musical artists at about 13:02 this afternoon, Wednesday, 24 July 2024,” said Free State Department of Health spokesperson Mondli Mvambi.

“Their managers have been informed and have attended to the scene and the hospital in order to get full details of what happened and who was involved so that the next of kin of those involved in this fatal accident may be decently informed and not through social media platforms.”
