False suicide threat sends police to R Kelly’s home

Police were sent to R Kelly’s Chicago home following an anonymous phone call which falsely reported that a mass suicide by a number of women was being planned at the address.

According to TMZ, the anonymous caller alleged that the singer’s 21-year-old girlfriend, Azriel Clary as well as four other women, who are Kelly’s alleged victims were planning to carry out a suicide pact at the Trump Towers in Chicago.

Speaking to E! News, the Chicago Police Department revealed that they had received the call at around 17:00 on Tuesday evening.

“Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact. Police on scene conducting a wellness check and it is not a bonafide incident.”

The singer’s publicist also told the publication that the news were fake.

“He’s (R Kelly) fine. He’s getting ready [to] rehearse and sing some songs.”
