REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12
Minimum 1 year retail sales experience
Ability to communicate fluently in English; Xhosa and Afrikaans – advantageous
Good customer service history
Must be able to work overtime if necessary
Working hours: Monday – Saturday
Only East London based individuals will be considered
Available to commence employment immediately

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist customers with product selection (advice and technical assistance)
Process sales transactions (operates cash transactions, credit cards and EFTs accurately and efficiently, issue invoices/receipts)
Daily cash-up/recon of sales
Count money/prepare banking to be collected
Complete and balance cash-ups with counter sales reports daily (no excess cash to be left unbanked and has to be reported)
Monitor the stocking of shelves, stock rotation and organization of merchandise, returns, exchanges, refunds and credits
Monitor stock replenishment to ensure adequate stock (checking of orders, stock levels and stock receipts)
Process computer stock transfer into warehouse
Monitor stock receipts to ensure accuracy
Build customer loyalty
Initiate the display of merchandise to promote sales
Adhere to company policies, rules and standard operating procedures
Provide customers with quotations
Report any irregularities to the Supervisor
Picking of stock accurately according to the picking slip
General housekeeping duties
Assisting in quarterly stock takes
