Expired vaccine disposals above board – Health Dept
The Department of Health is attempting to allay fears over the expiry dates of the country’s vaccine stockpile.
Over 80,000 COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine doses will be disposed of by the end of this month as a result of expiry.
The department says it must ensure that expired medication is not circulated for use.
It notes that the volume of vaccines doses to expire is less than 0.3 percent of current stock, well within World Health Organisation guidelines.
