No evidence of terrorism in SA, says Bheki Cele

Police Minister Bheki Cele says there is no evidence of terrorism in South Africa.
This comes after a string of killings and attacks across the country.
He says these recent acts are not fit to be regarded as terrorism.
But the minister does admit that they cause fear among communities.
“These things do not fit the definition. People are living in fear,” he said.
“What is happening is not terrorism. These killings are not linked.
“If you asked me if it’s terrorism. No, there is no evidence.”
Cele confirmed that arrests have been made in tavern shootings that took place in Ekurhuleni, Mamelodi, and Pietermaritzburg.
However, no one has been arrested for the Orlando east tavern shooting.
He also says that there’s no evidence that all these shootings are linked.
