The ANC Youth League in eThekwini is questioning the sudden departure of KwaZulu-Natal Sports MEC, Amanda Bani-Mapena.
The ANC in the province says Bani-Mapena resigned, but the regional Youth League believes she was forced out.
Bani-Mapena was in the position for just eight months.
The resignation was announced on Wednesday following a meeting of the ANC KZN executive.
The party’s provincial secretary, Bheki Mtolo, has rubbished reports that Bani-Mapena was underperforming and was fired.
