Eskom will implement Stage 1 load-shedding between 4pm and 10pm on Wednesday.
The power utility says it has managed to return four electricity units, improving its generation capacity.
Eskom says it expects two more units to start working again on Wednesday.
The utility is urging South Africans to use electricity sparingly.
