Emtee left Ambitiouz Entertainment this year to pursue a career as an independent artist – Even though he has a strong support system, Emtee says it’s tough making it on your own – Ambitiouz Entertainment was not good for him so he definitely made the right choice; however, it hasn’t been easy.
Emtee took a courageous step in 2019 and took his music career into his own hands and decided to go independent. It was headline news for quite a long time after Emtee made the announcement that he wanted to leave Ambitiouz Entertainment. the hashtag #FreeEmtee appeared on Twitter, the rapper shared a list of the frustrations with the label. The comment also included that he had been told who he could work with and those he could not work with.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Emtee made the comment that he was considering leaving the label. He went on to say that he wanted to make the break as clean as possible. It took Emtee approximately two months to make the final decision to leave the label. With having this time, the rapper was able to get used to the idea of being independent. Emtee did however make the comment that for him to be independent was not really so great as he needed people around him. His ambition is to make good music and that is what he focuses on.
He allows other people to do the rest. There were people who had contacted Emtee offering to help him, but he did not want to spend time concentrating on that. He wanted to put his time and effort into making sure that he and Ambitiouz came to an agreement that suited both parties. After Entee left Ambitiouz in August, he said that he was now focusing on the path ahead with African Trap Movement, which includes Sjava and Saudi. Even though the pair stayed with the label, Saudi told TshisaLIVE that he was extremely proud that his friend had the courage to take the huge step. He commented further that Emtee was not appreciated for all he did for the label. Sjava is hoping that the company will take heed of the mistake they made and is hoping they will not repeat it.
