EMS in Johannesburg on high alert as cold front hits Gauteng
Wrap up warmly, Gauteng — a cold front is here. The South African Weather Service confirms a serious drop in temperature this weekend.
City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services says it’s on high alert to respond to any emergencies.
It will focus in particular on 189 informal settlements.
The service is urging people to keep an eye on paraffin stoves, heaters, and candles, and not leave them unattended.
