Cyril Ramaphosa: We have to overcome the electricity crisis

Solving the electricity crisis is necessary if we are to realize the potential of our economy.

That’s the word from President Cyril Ramaphosa.

He says he held an urgent meeting with ministers and officials at the weekend.

And he pledged to remain ‘seized’ with the issue until the situation is resolved.

The President met with US President Joe Biden last week.

Their meeting focused heavily on deepening trade and investment between the two countries.

Ramaphosa says US business leaders are keen to invest in South Africa despite the many challenges SA faces.

The recent inflow of foreign direct investment from various countries is a vote of confidence in our economy.
