POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Team Leader: Electrical, the incumbent will be responsible to ensure that all electrical equipment machinery is – maintained in good working order; and obtain certificates of compliance.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Preventative Maintenance
Undertake preventative maintenance according to the planned maintenance schedule as issued by Supervisor/Manager
Fully complete documentation in terms of inspection lists and relevant SOPs
Where there is no SOP a conventional or an RPWP must be filled
Completed documentation should be returned to the Manager and Planning Officer
Scheduled overtime between Maintenance and Production for preventative maintenance not done on weekly-basis
Form part of Technical Services Rapid Response Team as and when required by supervisor/manager
Corrective Maintenance
Ensure availability for standby-duty and attend to Production
Prioritize on urgent Maintenance break-down
Attend to breakdown ASAP, report and give feedback to customer and Manager if necessary, order parts
Make sure breakdowns form is filled in as per requirements
Keep adequate stock of the critical spares
New Installations
Ensure the CNN is available and approved
Obtain drawings from the Drawing office and obtain Certificates of compliance from inspector/contractor
Undertake ad hoc electrical installations (construction) as required
Obtain drawings from the Drawing Office and obtain Certificates of Compliance from inspector/contractor
Liaise with the Drawing Office to ensure that the drawings are updated to standard
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Technical electrical knowledge gained through qualifying as Electrical Technician
Knowledge gained through the Radiation Workers course
Consistent awareness of the requirements that will ensure a safe working environment
Knowledge and understanding of quality management and the systems and processes involved
The ability to analyze situations and to arrive at the best possible solution
The ability to apply the principles of problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve a problem in the best interest of all stakeholders
The ability to attend to finite detail whilst executing outputs to ensure the quality of service delivery
The ability to operate within a soundly managed team whilst respecting the diversity of the team members
The ability to interact with people at all levels in the organization

Able to be trusted to do what is expected or has been promised
To be trusted with confidential information from a business and personal perspective
The incumbent will be taken through the practical hands’ operations with the long-term view of a Technical Specialist in the long run. The Technician will work with artisans on RM’s and PM’s
Medically fit to work as a Radiation Worker
Work shifts as required by the business
Must be available to work on standby
Must have own transport
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
National Diploma or B-Tech in Electrical Engineering
