Jacob Mamabolo says licence booking system is efficient and effective

Following outcries over the booking slots for driver’s licence renewals, the issues have been addressed according to Gauteng Transport MEC Jacob Mamabolo.

He said the online booking system is efficient and effective.

Thursday is the last day for motorists to renew their expired licences.

Mamabolo said, “as the province, we have worked with the minister himself.”

“We are pleased with the support the minister gave us. Firstly, to make sure the online booking system is efficient and effective in the sense that we created multiple digital platforms working with the RTMC in which we launched a campaign called “Request a Slot” and Request a Slot has been successful in the sense that all the people struggling to get their slots were assisted…”

“We have seen a high rate of people that have not honoured the slots that they made so from the POA of the online booking system with the support and the offices. We have addressed the outcry of, “I am battling to get a slot.”
