Call for more effective disaster response after KZN Floods

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says people need to know what to do when weather alerts are issued.

She says local councils need to put protocols in place.

She was visiting flood-affected areas in Durban with NGOs who have been providing relief.

The Minister also says rescue teams need to be trained to deal with the effects of climate change.
