The DA has officially filed papers in the North Gauteng High Court against the EFF’s planned national shutdown next Monday.
The EFF is demanding an end to the electricity crisis and the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
During a press briefing, DA leader John Steenhuisen outlined the party’s response to various threats on social media.
He says the party has written to Police Minister Bheki Cele and President Ramaphosa to reassure citizens that the security cluster is ready for the mass action.
The party will also press charges against the EFF if there is any damage to property, lives or infrastructure during the shutdown.
