EFF leader Julius Malema says AfriForum’s civil case against him is a waste of the court’s time. Malema says the lobby group claims that the singing of ‘Shoot the Boer incites violence is a distortion of its meaning.
The EFF leader took the stand at the Equality Court in his own defence on Wednesday.
Malema has been accused of hate speech for allegedly singing the song outside a court appearance in Senekal two years ago. But the EFF leader has denied this.
AfriForum insists the song vilifies white farmers and incites violence. Malema, however, insists farm murders can’t be linked to the song as it dates back to the 70s.
