EFF apologises to journalists Thandeka Gqubule, Anton Harber

The EFF has apologised and retracted allegations made against veteran journalists Thandeka Gqubule and Anton Harber.
It had claimed the two worked for apartheid propoganda unit, Stratcom. The reporters denied the allegations.
The High Court ordered the EFF to apologise to the pair and for the party’s spokesperson to pay the journalists fourty-thousand rand each in damages.
The South African National Editor’s Forum is welcoming the ruling.

Actresses Rami Chuene and Vatiswa Ndara have responded with dismay to the open letter statement released by the Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa.
In it, Mthethwa addressed the open letters he received from Ndara and opera singer Sibongile Mngoma. Mthethwa said he could not be drawn to address each and every open letter addressed to him. Read more
